Denver is the capital of the most populous US state Colorado, situated in the centre of the Front Range Urban Corridor, with the Rocky Mountains to the west and the High Plains to the east.
All roads of Denver’s downtown system are called streets. Roads leading outside the system that travel east or west have the suffix "avenue" and those that head north and south feature the "street" suffix. Boulevards are higher capacity streets and head in any direction. Most streets outside the area between Broadway and Colorado Boulevard are organized in an alphabetical order from the city’s centre.
