It’s been a real pleasure being a part of the blog team over the past 18 months. It’s provided us an opportunity to engage with our customers in a way that was not previously possible and, as an organisation, we’ve benefited greatly from reading the various comments and feedback from you all over the past year. They’ve made a huge difference to the way we do things over the past year.
Sadly my involvement with the blog will be significantly reduced as I have accepted an exciting new role in our European Headquarters as Head of Direct Marketing. However, I’ll still be maintaining an active interest in the blog and I’ll continue to keep tabs on what you are all saying. I’ll even write a post from time-to-time, giving updates on what is happening from a European perspective!
There are some other departures from the blog team. In a huge loss for Avis, Eibhlin is leaving Avis UK to return to her native Ireland for what I believe to be a really exciting role with a well-known mobile telecommunications company. Everyone is really sad to see Eibhlin go and she has been a huge influence on the set up and management of the blog.
Finally, Peter is finishing his secondment as Head of Customer Support and is returning to his role as head of the operations team in our south region. No doubt Peter will continue to provide an operations insight on the blog.
I’d also like to welcome my replacement Josi Kytle. Josi is arrives to the UK team having previously held the position of Head of Marketing Communications at Avis Europe with previous experience working at BA. In addition to Josi, Rob and Stephen will continue to write and answer your questions!

I cannot trust your Select Series guarantee. Rental 4310 6918 GB-1
When I got to Heathrow on 2nd August, looking forward to a 19 day rental of an Audi A4 as you “guaranteed”, I was told that only a Mercedes C200 (actually it was a C180) was available. So what about this “guarantee”. I use Avis at least once a year on my leave and look forward to trying new vehicles. I have a BMW at home in Jakarta. So I was stuck for the whole holiday with the bog-standard Merc. Please do not advertise your Select series Guaranteed models any more.

I understand your frustration John, though I fail to see it’s relevance to this post…?
I’m sure someone from Avis will get back to you on this though.
Back on topic, I just want to wish Xavier, best of luck in your new role, I’m sure you will be missed at Avis here but always exiting to do something new!
I’m sure as you say; you will still keep an interest in the blog.
I also want to wish everyone else moving and changing best of luck!
Robert

Hello Robert,
thank you for your kind words. I’ve moved to our European HQ. It sounds very far but actually it’s in bracknell on the M4, only 30mn away from my old office!
