Enjoy the UK and save money on a ‘Staycation’

    Well it looks as though summer is finally here, and with temperatures topping those popular holiday resorts, it’s a great time to think about taking a ‘Staycation.’

    There is so much happening in the UK this year, including the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics, so why not hire a car with Avis and explore what’s on your doorstep.

    The Queens Jubilee

    Next weekend we celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee and all get to enjoy an extended weekend to enjoy the festivities. With a number of events planned around the country, it is a great chance to take a short break.

    The Queen will be attending the Epsom Derby on the 2nd June which is always a fun day out. Enjoy the sunshine and see if you can make some money on the horses.

    Other exciting events include the concert at Buckingham Palace on Monday 4th June and the procession. The BBC have organised a concert with a number of top headline acts. If you haven’t already got tickets then why not head to Hyde Park and watch it on the big screens.

    The Olympics

    The Olympics are another great reason to take a Staycation this year. Instead of getting stuck in queues at the airports, why not hire a car and enjoy the excitement of the games. The torch relay has already begun, so keep an eye out for when it will be passing by near you.

    With Olympic events taking place not just in London, but around the country, there are plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy the sports on a holiday at home.

        Hi

        If I were to hire a class C car for 9 days and opted for the Premium cover (to cover all eventualities) – how much should I expect to pay and does it cover EVERYTHING?

        Hi Vikki,

        Our Premier Cover insurance package for a C group car is £15.50 per day, so the cost would be £139.50. This is our most comprehensive and care free cover and includes:

        - CDW (Collision Damage Waver) – reduces your car hire insurance excess down to £100, giving you peace of mind when you’re on your journey. This also means we don’t need to take a hefty security deposit (unlike other car rental firms!)
        - FREE Additional Driver for rentals within the UK
        - PAI (Personal Accident Insurance) – giving you cover for medical expenses in the event of an accident
        - Medical Expenses
