Can I please request a little more information from you? To collect a car with Avis the main driver needs to present a credit card but from my understanding, you didn’t have your wallet?

So I changed the tyre and rang the staff at portsmouth avis who were on that day incredibly helpful and we got the car changed ) am waiting to see the bill though (as no mention of a charge was made). Next and hopefully final problem.. I dont have the cash availiable on me to acquire the neccessary petrol needed to get where I'm going, I thought it should be as simple as, get another car dropped off whilst avis take this one away fill it back up and debit the account for the petrol, then I have a car fully fueled, my boss gets there job done, avis make money on the surcharges they add to petrol. Everyone is a winner. Yes? No... I was told to run out of petrol and ring the breakdown, pay the extortionate charges get a gallon or so and repeat the exercise untill I get back to my house and wallet. It was also suggested by an operator that I go to my nearest tesco fill up and then go in store, say sorry il pay it next week! If this is a blog and someones reading this from avis... Our flight was on time but only one car was ready. We were given all the sales talk about CDW Insurance which was fair enough, in this talk we were advised that we had a choice regarding petrol. To return the vehicle full with no charge or return it and the fuel used would be calculated. All vehicles were returned requiring fuel and although the tanks were over half full were charged for a full tank. One of our drivers was so unhappy that he drove to the nearest petrol station so that he was not part of the AVIS SCAM. Not very professional service.
