Here are some examples of questions you may have:

    

Do I need to provide my email address?
Yes – your rentals are managed through an online account

You do not have to opt it to receive emails but you will then not receive your upgrade, money off and free weekend voucher.

    

    
Back in January I made a booking for a rental in August – will it count?
Rentals made and completed by the last day of your loyalty year count towards that years loyalty. For example, for those of you with the anniversary date of 1st May, any rentals completed between 1st May 2012 and 30th April 2013 (no matter when you made the booking) will count towards your loyalty status for that year.
    

    
Why is the currency in Euros?
You will have noticed that your currency is marked in Euros. This is because the new loyalty programme is available across Europe and the ‘base currency’ has been set at Euros. Your rentals will always appear in Euros and is converted based on the current exchange rate.
    

    
Why is my balance on ‘0’?
The balance reverts back to ‘0 Euros’ on the first day of your anniversary date. The money you spend in that year will be added to this total.
    

    
In which countries can I use my card and enjoy the benefits?
You can currently use your Avis Preferred loyalty card and enjoy your benefits in the following countries: Great Britain, Germany, Italy (excl. Sardinia), Spain, France (excl. Corsica), Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal and the Netherlands

Upgrades are available in all Avis countries but the booking must be made at least 48 hours before hand and are subject to availability.
    

    
What are the vouchers and how do I receive them?
If you are in Tier 1, we will send you an email with two vouchers once you have rented twice before your anniversary date. One for money off and one for a free upgrade voucher. The two cannot be used together but using them for another rental will still count towards your third rental earning you a free weekend voucher.

Once you have rented a third time you will receive an email including a voucher for a free weekend rental in Europe

Where/when can I redeem the free weekend rental?
The free weekend is valid from a Friday – Monday and is valid in Great Britain, Germany, Italy (excl. Sardinia), Spain, France (excl. Corsica), Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal and the Netherlands.

You are able to use if for the rental of a small – medium sized car and the price for gas, extra services and airport surcharges are not included.

The voucher is valid for 6 months from the issue date and is not available for use during peak seasons such as Easter and Christmas.

The free weekend rental will not count towards your loyalty status.

What will I upgrade to?
We will always do our best to upgrade you if we have told you as such For a guaranteed upgrade with Avis Preferred First Plus customers you must make your booking at least 48 hours before hand to ensure we can arrange the upgrade .

You will not upgrade to a different transmission (manual to automatic or visa versa) as we assume you have requested that car out of driving preference.

You will not be upgraded to an estate as customers booking a standard car do not usually want the additional space.
    

    
Is Avis Select Series included in the programme?
If you make an Avis Select Series rental this does count towards the new loyalty programme and will go towards one of your rentals

It is not included for the free weekend rental
    

    
I made a rental but it hasn’t appeared in my account – what do I do?
Sign into your Online Account on the Avis website and click on ‘Claim Rental’. In here you can submit details of the rental you believe to be missing. This will be investigated and, if deemed correct, added to your loyalty status
    

    
I can't sign into my Online Account.
It might be that you haven't got an online account set up. Just because you are a member of Avis Preferred does not mean you automatically have an online account. If this is the case you need to go to here and, at the bottom of the page, select 'I wish to create an online account using my Avis Preferred details'.

If you have set up an online account but still cannot sign in please email us at customer.service@avis.co.uk with your full name and title, the email you used when you signed up for Preferred and your Avis Preferred customer number which is on your card.
    

    
How do I know what my 'anniversary date' is?
Your loyalty 'anniversary date' for those of you who were already Avis Preferred members will be 1st May. Otherwise the date will be the day you sign up to Avis Preferred.
    

    
Do Avis Prestige rentals count towards loyalty?
Yes. Avis Prestige rentals can count towards loyalty but will not count automatically as you are not able to input your Customer Number. You must, therefore, claim the rental via the ‘Claim rental’ tab in your online account
    

    
I have an AWD (Avis Worldwide Discount) number as part of my Preferred account. Can I still take advantage of latest offers/sale prices?
This hasn’t changed. If you have an AWD you cannot use it in conjunction with another AWD. You will need to remove your AWD and enter the AWD of the promotion or offer you wish to enjoy.

This rental will still count towards your loyalty status
