Avis unlocking innovation in motorsport
Sponsors of Mahindra Racing Formula E TeamIn April 2015 we entered into a long-term partnership with the Mahindra Racing Formula E team. We're excited to support this thrilling new motorsport from its beginnings - positioned at the forefront of innovation - as it plays a crucial role in accelerating the development of electric cars throughout the automotive industry.
What is Formula E?Formula E is the first fully-electric racing series in the world with 10 teams racing on street circuits at some of the world's leading cities including London, Berlin and Paris. Energy, Environment and Entertainment are the three core values the championship is built around to produce a series which appeals to a new generation of motorsport fans.
From the second season, Formula E will operate as an 'open championship', allowing teams and manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their own electrical energy innovations. Teams will focus their efforts on improving and developing powertrains and battery technology, with the aim of this filtering into the everyday electric vehicle market.
FanBoostA unique aspect of the sport is the opportunity for fans to directly get involved through FanBoost. You can give your favourite driver an extra on-track boost during the race by voting for them. The top 3 drivers each receive a boost of power during the race.
Changes to the system have made it easier to get involved, and will make it possible to vote using a hashtag on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. FanBoost voting opens 12 days before a race takes place.
Formula E fans will also have the chance to boost their favourite driver during the races this season. Starting at the Beijing ePrix in October, voting for FanBoost will remain open during the opening six minutes of each race throughout the season.
