Miami is divided into many neighbourhoods, which form the North, Downtown (Central), West and South parts of the city. Downtown is the heart of Miami, although it is situated in the eastern part of the city. This is where you will find urban Brickell, beautiful Virginia Key, Watson Island and busy Miami Port.
Interstate 95 is a major highway connecting Miami to Maine, running through South and North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York states. Within Miami it runs south of downtown and feeds into US 1. Keep in mind that there are many people using it to drive between Miami and Broward County, and it creates heavy traffic during rush hour.
Airport Expressway (SR 112) runs from I-95 to Miami International Airport; there is a $1.25 toll for using it, but it provides a fast and pleasant commute to the airport.
