Directions to the Avis Rental desk at Gatwick Airport from Arrivals

North Terminal

• In the North Terminal building we’re on Level 1 - one floor up from arrivals. 
• Please use the elevators next to the International Arrivals.

South Terminal

• From Arrivals, please make your way to the ground floor outside the terminal and turn right - the car rental building is located there. 
• About a 2 min walk from the lifts.

Returning your vehicle to Avis at Gatwick Airport

When returning your vehicle to the North Terminal, please collect a ticket as you drive through the main car park entry plaza and follow the signs to Car Park 6, Level 2. Insert your ticket into the barrier machine and park in one of our bays.

If no Rapid Return staff members are available in the car park during opening hours, please take the keys to the Avis desk inside the terminal. We know you might need to bring your vehicle back outside opening hours too, so if that’s the case just pop the keys in our drop box, also in Car Park 6, Level 2.

Gatwick Airport is London’s second largest international airport. It is situated in Crawley, West Sussex. The airport also holds the title of the second busiest airport in the United Kingdom.  Around 34 million passengers pass through Gatwick every year, which is about half the amount of passengers that pass through London Heathrow Airport.

Gatwick Airport started life as a small airfield in the late 1920’s; it was located near a race course in West Sussex. The ownership of the land that the airfield was on changed hands a number of times up until 1933 when it was sold to an investor.  Over the years the airport underwent many changes that saw it expand in size.

In 1958 the Queen officially opened Gatwick Airport on June 9th 1958. The airport continued to expand and has seen the number of passengers continue to grow as a result.

London Gatwick Airport is ideally located for driving into the South of England. Get the most out of your rental car and head to the many destinations within easy reach of the airport, such as Brighton, Guildford, the South Downs and of course London, which is just 28 miles away.

The M23 motorway is directly linked at Junction 9. The airport also has direct access to the A23 London-Brighton road, perfect for getting out into the Surrey and Sussex countryside and down to the coast. Just a 10 minute drive and you’re at Junction 7 of the M25, connecting you to the UK’s extensive road and motorway network.
