Plan your journey from Reus AirportReus Airport is just a 15-minute drive (via Avenue Tarragona) from Reus – a picturesque and culturally rich town in Catalonia. As the birthplace of world-famous architect Antoni Gaudi, Reus has a charming old quarter steeped in history and numerous museums and monuments.
The old town is a delightful place to spend a leisurely afternoon. A few historic remains can be found in Carrer dels Jueus (the old Jewish quarter), as well as a fortified building settled on Placa del Castell.
No trip to Reus is complete without spending time at the Gaudi Centre. Situated in the Placa del Mercadal in the heart of the city, it’s a tribute to Reus’ favourite son and showcases his works through various interactive and audio-visual exhibits.
Just a short walk from the Gaudi Centre is the Church of San Pedro, where Gaudi was baptised. This spectacular cathedral built in 1569 features an exquisite stained-glass window and is a prime example of late Gothic architecture.
If you fancy a meal and a show, head to Placa de Prim. The centre of Reus’ nightlife and where Teatre Fortuny stands, it’s the ideal place for a lively evening out.
Discover Reus and the picturesque east coast of Spain from the comfort of your Avis hire car.
