Where to find us
You’ll find our friendly team at Stockholm Central Train Station on Klarabergsviadukten just around the corner the entrance to the station. The office is located at street level. To collect your car, you’ll be heading to the station car park area reserved for rental cars.
About Stockholm Central Train Station
Stockholm Central Train Station is Sweden’s main railway station and one of the busiest stations in Northern Europe serving visitors arriving from Stockholm Arlanda Airport as well as domestic and international rail passengers.
First opened in 1871, around 200,000 passengers pass through the station’s impressive Vasagatan entrance every year. One unique feature of the station is the Royal Waiting Room opened and in use since the station was built.
There are several trains to and from the major Swedish cities of Gothenburg, Malmo and Sundsvall as well as to the Danish capital Copenhagen and the Norwegian capital Oslo each day.
Close to the centre in the bustling Norrmalm district of central Stockholm, the station is also handily located for waterfront attractions like the Parliament Building and National Museum as well as Old Town (Gamla Stan), one of the most popular districts to explore especially at Christmas.

Tips for driving in Stockholm
If you are driving in Stockholm for the first time or have just arrived in Sweden, make sure you familiarise yourself with Swedish driving rules before picking up your car. Some key road rules in Sweden include driving on the right and overtaking on the left. Be aware that low beam headlamps must always remain on. Mobile phones can only be used as a built-in audio device. On roads that have a speed limit of between 30 and 50 km/h, buses always have the right of way. Be aware that there is a congestion charge in Stockholm on weekdays between 06:30-18:29.

What are the age requirements for hiring a rental car in Stockholm?

From Stockholm Central Station you’re just a 10-minute drive from Gamla Stan – the historic centre and one of the best-preserved Medieval cities in Europe. This is also where a number of prime attractions lie, including Stockholm Cathedral, the Nobel Museum and the Royal Palace.
Art lovers are spoilt for choice with a variety of galleries to peruse. Moderna Museet, settled on Skeppsholmen island, boasts one of the most important collections of modern art in Europe, including works by Picasso, Dali and Matisse. There’s also a children’s workshop and restaurant. Fotografiska, with its diverse schedule of photography exhibitions, is also worth checking out. And you can’t leave Stockholm without visiting the Vasa Museum, home to a giant warship that sunk in the city’s harbour in the 1600s, salvaged decades later.
Stockholm also offers a number of outdoor attractions, perfect for exploring on a sunny day. The Bergius Botanic Garden at lake Brunnsviken boasts an expansive collection of shrubs, plants and flowers from around the world, including an array of particularly exotic varieties housed in the Victoria House and Edvard Anderson Conservatory.

There’s also the 16th-century Uppsala Castle – home to the Uppsala Art Museum, while the nearby botanical gardens are a must for nature lovers. There’s also a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars.
Drottningholm Palace
Drive just 20 minutes from Stockholm Central Station (via Drottningholmsvägen/Route 275 and Route 261) and you’ll arrive at the first Swedish attraction to feature on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage sites: Drottningholm Palace. This stunning building – with its park, Baroque garden and Chinese pavilion – is a must-see and open for most of the year.
Trosa
The pretty town of Trosa, just a 55-minute drive from Stockholm Central Station (via the E4), is also worth exploring. Take a stroll along its charming narrow alleyways and picturesque harbours. There are numerous little shops for those in search of a souvenir, while top attractions include Nynäs Castle and Tullgarn Palace.
